It is unknown how many teens commit bestiality; incidents often go undetected or unreported, and even when arrests occur, records are often sealed. In a meta-analysis of several studies of juvenile sex offenders, Seto and LaLumiere reported a 14% rate of bestiality. Although not a lot has been written about about juveniles and children who’ve committed sex acts with animals, based on articles by mental health professionals, juvenile detention specialists, and medical practitioners, we might assume it happens more often than reported.
In a 2002 study (Fleming, Jory, and Burton) researchers interviewed 361 males adjudicated and institutionalized for various anti-social or criminal behavior. Six percent (n24) of the juveniles admitted to having undetected sex with animals, and among those admitting to bestiality 90% (n23) also admitted to human sexual assaults. In a more recent study, the Canadian Center for Child Protection reported that about 13% of individuals arrested for bestiality were males under the age of 18.
